How to use this calculator
Calculate total external load across equal sets. Enter weight per repetition (kg), repetitions per set, sets. The result updates when you change an input. To compare two sets of inputs, save scenario A, then enter the second set; the result panel shows the difference.
Formula and limits
Volume load = external weight × repetitions × sets. All sets use the same load and repetition count; body weight is not included.
Worked example
The following example uses the calculator’s starting values. It is an illustration of the method, not a recommended target.
| Input | Example value |
|---|---|
| Weight per repetition (kg) | 50 |
| Repetitions per set | 10 |
| Sets | 3 |
Kilograms of volume load: 1,500
Interpreting your result
Use the distance and time conventions specified in the labels. These tools calculate descriptive metrics, not individualized exercise prescriptions or performance guarantees.
Comparing alternatives
Save the first result as scenario A, then change one input. The comparison shows the numeric difference; it does not label either result as better. Choose inputs that describe realistic alternatives. Values shown on screen are rounded, so calculations from rounded intermediate results may differ slightly.
