CALCAVEN

Methodology and validation

Formula-based results

Each calculator applies a stated mathematical formula to the numbers entered. Default values are examples; financial rates, emissions factors, and other changing quantities are not live data unless a tool explicitly says otherwise.

Checks performed

During development, the library was checked for unique tool identifiers, finite results with default inputs, and JavaScript syntax. Selected reference examples and invalid inputs were checked across categories, including zero-interest loans, sample variance, the ideal gas law, and dilution. A whole-item rounding issue in the tile calculator was identified and corrected.

These checks are not an exhaustive audit of every possible input. The displayed update date records an implementation change or check, not an independent expert certification. Health and financial tools have not been certified by a clinician, accountant, or financial adviser.

Examples and precision

Worked examples on calculator pages are computed by the same formula engine as the interactive tool. They demonstrate behavior but are not an independent validation source. Most results display up to three decimal places; money usually displays two. Very small or large values may use scientific notation.

Sources and assumptions

References distinguish subject reading from direct validation. Each tool’s formula describes exclusions and simplified models. Check units and assumptions before relying on a result, particularly when decisions affect money, health, construction, or laboratory work.

Corrections

Keep the calculator address, input values, expected result, and reference calculation when documenting a possible error. Do not include account numbers, medical records, or other sensitive details. A public contact channel is being prepared.
